Pastor Mike
I was well pleased with the reception I received at your church this past Sunday. I have found your sermons and look forward to reading them. I thank your church for their hospitality. This is the link that I thought you might enjoy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSiBv-ntZd8 Do you have an e-mail address?
I just finished reading through your wonderful “Heaven” booklet that you gave me. I thought the formatting of interweaving biblical passages within the story was done really well.
I specifically enjoyed last section: “Something To Think About”. I loved how it highlighted the redemptive nature of Christ when Frank (or rather, I should say Matt!) saw his sins flash before his eyes, yet he is embraced and loved as you wrote:
“God spoke again to Matthew: ‘Matthew, I love every human being whoever was, and whoever has been, and whoever will be born into the world that I created'”.
This is a wonderful story, and brings to the mind the idea that through whatever fog, the brightest light can still permeate.
Brother Mike, you are in Karen’s and mine’s heart and prayers! I thank God for your testimony and love of God’s Word and ministry that has touched so many lives.
I cannot begin to tell you what a blessing you were at the time of my husband’s heart surgery. After seeing him post surgery I was by myself in the hospital in Burlington I sat an prayed for the Lord to send me a Christian man to talk to,walked out of the room and there you were. the answer to my prayer. You reassured me and comforted me exactly in the way the Lord knew I needed. You are in our prayers. Thank you for your service in His service
In the bible, running is usually referenced in regards to “running the race of life/salvation” and having the endurance & strength to do so.
Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
(Hope implies both trust and patience)*
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
(Paul using an athletic metaphor talking about the Greek games)*
Galatians 5: 7-8 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth. That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.
“God, in the end, gives people what they most want, including freedom from himself. What could be more fair? ”
C.S. Lewis

Dear Brother I have no doubt the Lord is and will be with you to the end. Like Paul you have run the race, fought the fight and will finish well. Like Aaron and Hur we consider it a joy and privilege to stand beside you in prayer and lift up your arms with ours toward our Great Heavenly Father who has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. We call upon our Great Shepherd knowing He will take you through the valley of the shadow of death, guiding you, comforting you and giving you the peace that passes all understanding. We also do not give up in praying for your healing if that be God’s will. I love you my Brother, Friend, Co-Laborer in Christ and fellow heir and joint-heir with the Lord Jesus Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us and conquered death so we may live in Him even if we die.
On My Knees Beside You,
Hugh and Karen
