Oh dear friend Mike,
I hope you are coming along well; you are such a strong person and such an inspiration to us all ~ I pray for God’s Loving Hand to be upon you in all things!
I am soooo far behind the 8-ball on everything and I apologize for not getting in touch sooner; life has gotten away from me once again!! Hopefully Dawn and I will be in church tomorrow.
The last few weeks have thrown us a few challenges. My mom and Bryan were in an accident with Mom’s car. They are fine but her car is totaled so she has been using my car most of the time. She is having a problem with insurance issues; you and I know how that can go! But hopefully she will have another car soon. She is working on that daily.
Praise God that I have a schedule that allows some flexibility right now. I am less than a year from retirement; woo hoo!!!
The kids in Maine are having a rough time. We are holding them up heavily in prayer and I beg you to continue praying for all my Maine family, as I know you already do. Melissa and I are convinced that the entire Maine clan would have gone down in a blaze before now, if not for YOUR devoted prayers!!
On to your family now. I think your grandkids’ postings on our church webpage are absolutely precious!! It must mean so much to you!! I am reminded again to continue praying for Katie!! What an awesome young lady she is. Anne Marie must be so proud of her. I know she has great challenges, but what a beacon of light she is!!
Okay, I’m rambling again, as usual…will hopefully see you soon; praying for you always! God bless you and all your loved ones, today and all of your tomorrows into eternity. This email has ended, go in peace!

Subject: Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Teams
Pastor Mike: As I mentioned before, during Sunday service, you and your congregation have made us feel so welcome. Your invitation was not just to attend services, but to stay in the carriage house and church. Our teams have come to VT, from all over the US, to help with flood relief. What a wonderful thing it is to know that we have a welcome place to lay our tired heads at night. It’s is even more special to see the pride expressed in the display of our Southern Baptist Disaster Relief New England banner on the front of the carriage house for all to see. It’s a blessing to know that the name Baptist isn’t a shameful thing to keep hidden, but one that brings honor and glory to the One we serve. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family at New Covenant.
God´s heaven are very wondeul place for us in 7 years with weddings feast for Christ and many feast before are nothing what this wedding will be in joy and many celebrate this of the songs with our love and thanskgiving with the salvation and voice of hearts.

Subject: New Covenant Baptist Church
Pastor Mike and New Covenant
I thank God that we found New Covenant and have been so blessed by the hospitality of the congregation and the messages you give. Coming out from California for the summer, it has really been our home church away from home. It’s so encouraging for us to see a man following God like you while constantly asking the church to check everything against the Bible and keep him accountable. Thanks for your time, effort and devotion, you will certainly be in our prayers even when we return home.
I want to thank all who know me and all that don’t for the prayers that you have blessed me with. I’m having a very hard time accepting the loss of my wife Nancy. Nancy is and always will be a part of me.
I find after over 51 1/2 years one can not just let go. Well again, THANKS TO ALL!

Subject: A PATHWAY THROUGH PAIN
Hi Mike,
I felt that book was written just for me! The author, Jane Grayson, and I had so many similarities, from being a nurse about my age, her chronic pain issues and her frustration with fulfilling God’s Plan, or at least what she perceived it was, because of her disability of pain. However, because she had long times of being so bedridden and ill, she spent much time in prayer expressing her frustration and the old “why me” question.
She came to recognize (through the Holy Spirit) that suffering could be a vehicle by encouraging her to come closer to the Lord and to learn more about Him. Even though she wasn’t being healed, perhaps He had something better in store for her.
She stated at one time that “stripped of all worldly reassurance that I was making a valuable contribution to life, I lost my sense of self worth and esteem”. This has been exactly one of my frustrations. But, she realized over a period of time, that “Who I am was more important to Him than what I do or achieve in life. God would be more pleased to see my relationship with Him to deepen, than to see me doing things with my God given talents. He values us for the quietness of our soul. Another similarity that gave me goose bumps! was when she talked about a friend telling her to Be Still (and know that I am God). Remember Mike, I had told you how the song Be Still was a favorite of mine and really spoke to me!!
There was this beautiful poem/sonnet that she had in her book, that really reassured me that I am OK and though, at this time, I can’t do all that I hoped I could do-volunteering etc, for God’s people, I have developed a ravenous thirst to learn more about the Lord by faithfully reading the Bible with a open heart and listening, really Being Still!
I wait for you, My child
I desire your love
More than anything else you can give me
Not your service
Not your struggling trying to please me an others
I want you to love Me
To love me with all your heart, mind, soul and strength
This is the 1st Commandment and matters more
than all else-besides—-
I need your love, fellowship, devotion, and worship
I want you to be single minded in this one thing.
My spirit is within you–to enable you
to empower you–to fill your heart with love.
I desire this not sometimes but Always.
Since reading this book, I walk with a much lighter step and a dear Christian friend the other day said, “Sally, something is different about you. Your old laugh is back.” I shared with her this spiritual boost that I received from this wonderful little book and she gave me a big hug! So—
God Bless You, Mike for sharing it with me, Sally
