“For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit!” Isaiah 57:15

A truly humble man is aware of his natural distance from God; 
of his absolute dependence on Him, and of the insufficiency of his own power and wisdom; that it is by God’s power that he is upheld and provided for;
 and that he needs God’s wisdom to lead and guide him, as well as His might to enable him to live a holy life.

Nothing sets a person so much out of the devil’s reach, as does humility!
