Friday Morning Special 10/16/15
How to overcome death and gain life from Senior Living Ministries
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
— I CORINTHIANS 15:22
The family of Harry Bliss surely had no clue that their mourning would inaugurate a tide of death rarely seen before in human history. The year was 1899 in New York City, and Harry was the very first person to be killed in an automobile accident. Since Harry’s death, more than 3.5 million people have died from car crashes in the United States alone.
Few could have imagined that Harry would be the first of millions of casualties from car crashes. The attitude was probably much the same when the first man, Adam, introduced spiritual death into the world. He and Eve probably never understood the full consequences of eating the fruit.
Today, we see those consequences in pain, suffering, and death all over the world. In fact, there’s no place we can go to escape the results of Adam’s disobedience so long ago.
That’s why Jesus came. Because though we may die in Adam, we are made alive in Christ. Now that doesn’t mean we escape all the results of sin. But we do look forward to the day when sin will be no more… when death, sickness, and sadness are a distant memory.
Jesus reversed the curse of Adam. Thank God for that truth and trust in Him to overcome death!
Prayer Challenge
Pray that God would help you maintain your focus on Christ so you can walk in freedom from sin and live with the hope of eternal life!
This is in reference to Friday morning special, How to overcome death and gain life from Senior living ministries. As mentioned in 1899 this gentleman Harry was the first person to pass away in an automobile accident, as i was reading this story a special bulletin came across the news that there was a severe automobile accident where a tractor trailer hit six cars and took 2 innocent lives a man, & his son, injured several others not to mention it shut down to major highways for hours, so please lift your prayers up to everyone that was injured & killed in today’s accident. But what i gathered from today’s message was with god we can over come life trials and truly walk in freedom from sin and live with the hope of eternal life. Thank-you Pastor Mike for this beautiful message. Bobby W.
